Industries where we apply our methodology:

Methodology

Three integrated capabilities, one technical counterpart.

We are neither pure consultancy nor pure software. QuantumZIGMA operates three connected technical pieces — instrumentation, modelling and verification — under a single contract and a single outcome responsibility.

01

Overlay instrumentation

We install sensing complementary to what you already have — power quality at the PCC, thermal probes in racks or cold rooms, clamp-on flowmeters, vibration on pumps and compressors. Reading without touching the existing control system.

  • Class A power quality analyser at PCC and critical busbars
  • T/RH and dP probes in process zones
  • Ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeters on CHW
  • Project Haystack semantic tagging
03

Measurement, verification and monetisation

Every implemented measure is verified under an IPMVP Option C protocol signed by an accredited energy auditor. We file Spanish CAE Energy Savings Certificates for eligible measures and prepare PERTE applications where applicable.

  • Monthly auditable M&V report
  • CAE processing as licensed agent
  • PERTE Decarbonisation file preparation
  • RD 56/2016 (Spanish energy audit) compliance

Technical capacity

Advanced energy engineering, verifiable measurement, aligned economic model.

QuantumZIGMA operates under a documented technical framework, with verifiable standards and governance separated by function. In-house technical direction, external accredited energy auditor support and a network of certified collaborators.

Applied normative framework

Every project runs on internationally auditable standards: ASHRAE Guideline 14 for model calibration, IPMVP Option C for measurement and verification, ISO 50001 as the energy management reference, and Spanish RD 56/2016 / UNE-EN 16247 for energy auditing.

Separation of governance functions

Technical operation (sensing, modelling, optimisation) is separated by design from M&V validation, which is executed or supervised by an external A3E-accredited energy auditor. This eliminates the judge-and-party conflict and keeps reports defensible before the client, the administration and any third-party auditor.

Aligned economic model

We work under two models: fixed fee per technical project instruction, or share-savings on IPMVP-verified savings. In both cases we don't bill by the hour but by measurable deliverables and verified savings. Instrumentation is financed by the firm itself — the client does not put up CAPEX for the measurement layer.

How we work and what we don't take on.

We take on:

  • End-to-end design and technical operation of the methodology.
  • Initial investment in measurement instrumentation at the client's plant.
  • Model calibration under ASHRAE Guideline 14 (NMBE ±10% / CV(RMSE) ≤30%).
  • Processing of Spanish CAE Energy Savings Certificates and PERTE applications.

We don't take on:

  • External CAPEX financing for efficiency measures (equipment, structural retrofits).
  • Routine SCADA/DCS operation at the client side, nor its modification.
  • Savings commitments before model calibration (weeks 4-5 of the project).
  • Energy audits without external A3E-accredited support (separation of functions).

We work with controlled pilots and prior technical validation before taking on contractual savings commitments. If the case does not fit our methodology, we say so before signing.

How we work

From signing to first technical report in 6 weeks.

Week 0-1

Initial technical assessment

We review 12 months of electricity and gas invoices. We identify the critical operating variables and CAE/PERTE eligibility. At no cost to you.

Week 2-3

Overlay instrumentation

Installation by a RIBT-certified electrician. Edge gateway up and running, ingestion validated. Zero production downtime.

Week 4-5

Model calibration

Thermal and electrical model calibrated against measured data until ASHRAE G14 statistical tolerances are met.

Week 6

First technical report

Delivery of the report with quantified opportunities, evidence for each one, estimated payback and prioritised claimable CAEs.

Technical benchmark
Model meat plant · 80 t/day

Technical model applied to a representative industrial baseline

On a typical plant we identify ~€68k of potential annual savings under equivalent conditions.

This is a technical benchmark on representative data from a 80 t/day meat processing plant. The figures are potential detected by our methodology, not savings realised yet with a real client. Pilot validation is in progress.

~€68k
potential detected/year (estimate)
~630
MWh/year potentially saveable
~110t
CO₂/year avoided

distinct operational opportunities
See technical breakdown of the 8 opportunities →
  1. Unimplemented floating head pressure on NH₃ screw compressors · ~€21k/year
  2. Compressed air leaks (~22% of total consumption) · ~€10k/year
  3. CIP boilers idling holding temperature outside duty cycles · ~€8k/year
  4. Fixed-speed brine pumps (candidates for VFD) · ~€6k/year
  5. Unused heat recovery on the air compressor · ~€5k/year
  6. Power factor 0.91 (IDAE tariff penalty) · ~€3k/year
  7. Air network pressure +1 bar above what consumers require · ~€3k/year
  8. Cold-storage lighting without presence sensor · ~€1k/year

Indicative figures obtained by applying documented operational heuristics on the simulated baseline. The real potential on a specific plant depends on site-specific conditions and is only confirmed after model calibration (weeks 4-5 of the project).

Technical honesty

On your own, or with us.

Spanish CAE Energy Savings Certificates can be processed directly. The official gazette is public. The IPMVP standards are downloadable. This is what doing it on your own looks like in practice versus delegating it to us.
